Revisited // Transported

"Revisited // Transported" is a two-part series combining my hand-drawn abstract flowers with my abandoned building photography. This merging of the two halves of my work also merges my love for dilapidated structures (which were the background to a life spent growing up in and around Appalachia) and my natural drive to create things that are bright, colorful, and new. Both halves of the series are a way of honoring and appreciating these abandoned structures by either "revisiting" them to plant abstract flowers or "transporting" them into vibrant landscapes of abstract flowers.

Revisited

"Revisited" is the first half of this series (and its own sub-series) where abstract flowers have been arranged around abandoned buildings in their original landscapes.

This is a landscape of abstract flowers with an abandoned house cut into the left side such that pieces of the flowers overlap the house, fully integrating into the scene. The house is seen from what is likely the back with the print of a peaked porch roof on the side (which has obviously fallen off). The roof is rusty and buckling with trees growing up through it, and there are vines all over the building.
